Is non-adhesive signage tape available in other sizes? This is a question that we have sometimes been asked through our customer support chat for our professional and double-sided tape e-commerce. Is it possible to buy non-adhesive signage tape of different sizes?
This question does not surprise us: there are so many possible applications of custom signage tape that the desire to customize even the measurements, i.e., the length and/or width of the tape, is not surprising.
Today, we will have a look at how much you can actually customize warning and other signage tape, with a guide to make the right choice for you.
Is non-adhesive signage tape available in other sizes?
In our catalogue, measurements for non-adhesive signage tapes are set. More specifically, the measurements for customizable signage tape are 250 meters long and 75 millimetres wide (820.2 ft by 2.9 in).
On the other hand, the measurements of printed marking tape, 200 metres long and 70 millimetres wide (656 ft by 2.7 in), are slightly smaller. In short, this means that with a normal roll of signage tape already printed and ready for use, it will be possible to cover the length of two football fields.
It is therefore clear that single signage tape roll is more than enough to demarcate, for example, the area of a small construction site and that, on the other hand, you will need to buy several boxes of signage tape rolls to mark the entire route of a race such as a half marathon or a marathon.
It seems that, as far as length goes there would be no issue: those needing more length will need to multiply the number of rolls to buy, until they reach the total length needed.
As for the width, it should be specified that the measurement of 70-75 millimetres (2.7-2.9 in) is not chosen at random. A 7 cm (2.7 in) wide PE tape is in fact sufficiently visible even at a significant distance, ensuring at the same time lightness and resistance, but without creating a surface that would make the tape an easy prey for a violent gust of wind.
Choose the signage tape’s colours
We have therefore outlined how the measurements of non-adhesive signage tape are fixed. This is not the case for colours and graphics. In our online store there are two types of non-adhesive standard signage tape, namely the model with white and red longitudinal stripes and the specular model with yellow and black stripes.

Moreover, you can opt for a monochrome background and continuous writing tape – such as a red tape with the continuous writing of the word “danger” all over – or more elaborate tape, with a two-colour background and a combination of text and logos.
It must be noted that for some warning messages there are “typical” colours, which help to convey the desired message at a glance. Red tape is in fact typically used to indicate danger, and therefore tends to mean a stop or a complete ban on crossing the tape.
It is therefore the perfect tape – along with the one with white and red stripes – to mark a high-risk area.
Yellow tape is always used to indicate a hazard, usually due to construction sites or obstacles on the road. Blue or light blue tape, instead, is usually utilised to give information to onlookers: it is not uncommon to find tape of this type along the paths of particular events or sporting competitions.
Green tape is, instead, used to border special areas, whose access is limited to restricted categories of users (such as athletes or organizers).

Non-adhesive signage tape can be used in many different contexts.
These are undoubtedly tools used to delimit different types of construction sites, but they can also be used at outdoor concerts, hazardous areas, electrical risk areas, private property without fixed fences, during parties, sporting events, recent electrical notices, and so on.
