Inside a price labeller roll, how many labels does it contain?

How many labels are there in a manual labeller roll? Those who regularly use a professional price labeller know very well that it is always best to keep labels well stocked and ready to be placed inside the appropriate tool to continue printing and attaching labels to their products. But how many rolls should you buy?

Let’s consider for example of classic rectangular labels, measuring 18 by 11 mm (0.7 by 0.4 in), meant for the Sato PB1 and Meto Pl18 price labellers: each box contains 61 rolls, and you can buy 1, 2,3, 4, 5 or 6 boxes per order, 61, 122, 183, 244, 305 or 366 rolls respectively.

To decide how many boxes to buy you need to calculate those your own needs, and then how many labels you will need in the time period you intend to cover with your purchase.

But that’s not all: to be certain you have chosen the exact number of label rolls to buy, you also need to know how many labels there are inside a single manual labeller roll.

However, the number of labels contained in each refill is not fixed: it is therefore best to look at how many labels can be found in the rolls designed for your manual price labeller.

The different types of labels

Before calculating and then purchasing the right number of rolls according to the labels found in a single roll, it is, then, best to make sure you’re looking at the correct refill. It is worth mentioning that there are many types of labels available on the market.

For our convenience, it is possible to divide labels into two large groups, starting with their shape.

There are rectangular labels and there are shaped labels; in the case of eastern price labellers, usually – but not always – are filled with rectangular labels, and therefore with perfectly straight and parallel sides.

Certain types of labellers, however, support both kinds.

But that’s not all, as the labels also vary in size. There are smaller ones, intended for printing only one row, or the larger kinds, meant to print 2 or even 3 rows, designed for those who need to put a lot of data on the label itself (expiry date, product or manufacturer code, price, and so on).

Finally, you must be sure that the label you choose is compatible with your manual labeller: each model has slightly different requirements in this regard.

In our case, our online store specializing in the sale of customized double-sided adhesive tape (from packaging tape to industrial double-sided adhesive) stocks all label rolls compatible with Sato manual price labellers.

How many labels are there in a manual labeller roll?

Let’s have a look at how many labels are contained in normal manual price labeller rolls. As mentioned before, the number may vary from model to model. Let’s consider, for example, the Kendo 22 manual labeller: it is a price labeller which can print on 3 rows, with 6, 8 and 10 characters for each row respectively (with different heights).

In this case, you will need 22 by 12 mm (0.8 by 0.4 in) labels, both shaped and rectangular. Each roll contains 1,500 labels. So, a box of 50 rolls (this is the number of rolls contained in the label packages for this type of machine) will contain 75,000 labels in total. The same goes for the Kendo 26 price labellers, whose rolls always contain 1,500 labels each.

In the case of the Judo row labeller models (the Judo 22 and the Judo 26) which print on 2 rows, the number is 1,200 labels per roll. Considering, in this case, a box containing 36 rolls, 43,200 labels will be available.

Having this data at your disposal, and knowing your needs, you will be able to buy the perfect number of rolls each time, which means you will not have to place orders too frequently.

At this point, all you need to do is select the perfect labels for your company. You will need to consider the type of manual labeller you have – or intend to buy on our e-commerce website – and the type of label you want.

As we have outlined, different shapes are available for the same model of labeller, as well as different colours and different types of material.

Depending on the glue used, the adhesive labels will be permanent or removable, so you can choose the perfect label for your products, without limits, with all the options for pre-printed customization.
